From the very beginning,
we've known where we wanted to go.

From our foundation in 1933 - serving web offset and sheetfed printers in and around Chicago - to the volatile print marketplace of today, CIC has remained dedicated to the needs of our customers. While other companies have grown by acquisition and limiting product lines, we have chosen to grow one satisfied customer at a time. This focus has taken us from a single facility in West Chicago to offices and mixing plants across the country, and from non-heat formulas to custom-produced inks for a wide range of applications. Through growth we have increased our capacity and customer service, allowing us to custom-formulate inks for individual customers with unsurpassed tolerance levels in all facets of manufacturing, while providing timely delivery from five-pound tins to superbins. As times change so do the challenges, and Central Ink Corporation remains committed to meeting yours.

Experience is the foundation

for our unprecedented growth. Although Central Ink Corporation has been delivering satisfied customers for nearly 70 years, you may have never heard of us. Its even been said that CIC is 'the best kept secret in the ink business.' But all of that is changing rapidly. Since expanding into the West coast, CIC's presence has exploded in strategic printing areas of the US. Our primary mixing plant outside Chicago has grown to a 165,000 square foot facility capable of producing 150,000,000 pounds of ink per year. This is no single-line ink factory, but a state-of-the-art center producing both popular and specialty inks in a variety of batch sizes to meet the needs of all our customers. Soon everyone will realize what our committed customers in newsprint, catalog, direct response and commercial printing already know- there is a Central location for all their printing ink needs.

From tanker truck to single tin

With strategically placed branches throughout the United States, we're close at hand in your time of need. And with batch sizes ranging from five to over 18,000 pounds, we have the capacity to respond to your toughest demands. More than just manufacturing, our people have the flexibility to get your toughest jobs off the press correctly. Our technical sales representatives can help you choose the right formulation to match your equipment, or assist in creating inks specifically for your needs. We can also customize delivery schedules and offer storage options so you know our product is there when you need it.
